These paintings began as sketches drawn in my sketchbook during daily subway commutes, later translated through observation, photographs, and memory.

In-Between explores the quiet moments we experience in public spaces. Sometimes we are surrounded by strangers, sometimes by friends, and sometimes entirely alone. These shared spaces become brief pauses in the rhythm of daily life, places where we reflect, process, plan, daydream, or simply rest. They are moments of transition, existing somewhere between where we’ve been and where we’re going.

Expressive, layered abstract backgrounds are combined with figurative drawings inspired by people encountered throughout the city, capturing both the energy and solitude of urban life.
